Senior Accountant

Our CPA firm Richmond office is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be playing a crucial role in providing outstanding client services and supporting the operations in the office.
Your role:
· Preparing working paper files and financial statements for compilation engagements
· Preparing personal, corporate and trust tax returns and other information returns
· Leading tax planning engagements
· Providing comprehensive bookkeeping functions for clients including HST/GST, PST, WCB returns and other compliance filings
· Representing clients to interact with CRA and other tax authorities
· Supervising and training junior staff
· Contributing to the development of process and procedure documentation
Qualifications:
· CPA designation with five years public practice work experience
· A Bachelor’s Degree or higher
· Proficiency in accounting office software including Profile, Caseware, Excel, QuickBooks and Sage
· Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet filing deadlines
· Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build trusted relationships through effective communication and a positive work ethic
· Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to take initiatives and work independently
· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on solutions
