Description:
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT AT XPO
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 2 years of accounting or financial reporting experience
- Solid math aptitude
Preferred qualifications:
- Masters Degree Accounting, Finance or Business
- CPA certification
- 3 or more years of accounting or financial reporting experience, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm
- 1 year of experience working in a medium to large, multinational company, preferably with Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management tools (HFM, Hyperion Essbase or other financial reporting/consolidation software)
- Solid ability to understand and research large amounts of data from multiple sources

Responsibilities:
- Assist with consolidation of legal entities
- Be responsible for accounting areas of coverage with a focal point around risk, medical, benefits, auto liability, workers comp, and more.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of timely accounting information, analysis and reporting following with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures
- Accurately and efficiently maintain the general ledger accounts; analyze, understand and interpret trends and variances and explain fluctuations
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting closes for areas of functional responsibility
- Support external audit, internal audit and SOX compliance
- Complete and oversee monthly reconciliations of corporate-managed self-insurance reserves, and reconciliation and intercompany accounts
- Complete and oversee monthly shared service allocations
- Support the preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis data for areas of responsibility
- Complete respective SOX controls and related testing procedures
- Ad hoc analysis and process improvement project
