POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accounting Analyst is primarily responsible for executing the month-end close activities and financial controls for the Mitten business unit and reports to the Director Accounting, Canada. This position also addresses general accounting, internal corporate reporting matters, including ad-hoc reporting, which requires effective interactions and collaboration with other finance personnel.

EDUCATION

• Bachelors in accounting/finance/business or related field required
• CPA designation

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Minimum of 2 years of related professional experience
• Strong attention to details, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work as a team member and independently, self-driven, adaptable, and patient.
• Ability to meet deadlines (i.e., month-end closing).
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills, reading and writing skills in English, in order to communicate effectively with various levels of management and staff members.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Exposure to Sage 300 is an asset.

• Completion of month end financial reporting package, including preparation of adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations
• Monthly upload of results for consolidation
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
• Manage compliance procedures for SOX controls
• Monthly preparation of ABL support
• Preparation of quarterly SEC reporting package
• Support various cost centers with budget variance feedback
• Assist with periodic internal and year-end external audits
• Reconcile daily and monthly bank transactions
• Merchant and remote bank troubleshooting and support
• Intercompany invoicing and consolidated reconciliation
• Analysis and processing of employee expenses from Concur
• Performs other duties as assigned
