We deliver best-in-class customer service, extensive inventories, and value-added marketing and technology platforms to help drive sales and grow tire and automotive parts categories.
The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for complex accounting and analytical tasks for the U.S. AutoForce division. This position will be responsible for maintaining account reconciliations, various month end close activities, and ensuring GAAP compliance. Strong focus on analyzing variance reporting with actuals, budget and forecast and making recommendations as a result of the analysis. This position will be involved with accounting, budgets, audits, financial analysis, and other projects. These responsibilities will require proficient knowledge in Excel and data manipulation, as well as an ability to understand and enhance processes and procedures.
This position will work at our Corporate Office in Appleton, WI with a hybrid schedule [425 Better Way, Appleton, WI 54915].

Responsibilities:

Subject matter expert who serves as a primary resource for both internal and external parties
Analyze financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures
Responsible for month end close including multiple, higher risk account reconciliations
Knowledge of complex GAAP concepts, practices, and procedures of accounting; prepares GAAP research and prepares GAAP memos.
Prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports
Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records
Participate in and – in some cases - facilitate monthly budgeting and forecasting process; including engaging cross functionally to understand forecast resources
Assist with audit requirements and take ownership for respective areas
Oversee internal controls for the Division and partner with Enterprise Risk Management to ensure internal controls tasks are completed appropriately and self-testing requirements are fulfilled
Mentor and train Staff Accounting Analysts
Perform and, in some cases, lead ad hoc projects as requested by the business
