REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards in Panama and Brazil.
  • Proven experience managing international accounting teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable.
  • This position may require occasional travel to Panama, Brazil, and the US.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate different time zones.

Responsibilities:

THIS ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the accounting teams across Panama, Brazil, and the United States (the countries may change depending on the necessities of the team). This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the financial regulations in the respective countries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Oversee the accounting teams in Panama, Brazil, and the US, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes for all regions.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Leverage technology and automation to streamline accounting processes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all accounting activities.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and HR, to support business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between the accounting teams in different regions.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Monitor and manage currency exchange risks and other international financial exposures.
  • ERP Functional support:
  • Act as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert in the implementation and optimization of NetSuite ERP.
  • Collaborate with IT and project management teams to ensure the successful rollout of NetSuite across the regions.
  • Provide training and support to the accounting teams on NetSuite functionalities and best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the use of NetSuite to improve financial processes and reporting.
