Job Title: Senior Accounts Assistant
Location: JJ Rhatigan & Company, London Office
The Accounts Assistant will directly support the Financial Controller and help oversee the Accounts Function.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

  • Professional qualifications offer a distinct advantage.
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical, organizational & problem-solving skills.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of COINS an advantage.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent and accurate data entry skills and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good computer skills; Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Financial Controller with the control of day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Ensuring all tasks are accurately completed with the support of the accounts team.
  • Assist with month end and quarter end processes.
  • Assist with month end and quarter end reporting including variance analysis.
  • Assist with setting annual budgets for overheads.
  • Assist in managing and reporting business cashflow
  • Oversee the purchase ledger and the processing of invoices.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to any outstanding queries.
  • Liaise with site personnel and managers for approval of invoices and resolve any issues associated with this.
  • Prepare quarterly Vat Returns and oversee HMRC compliance.
  • Prepare and process Subcontractor payments.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • In the absence of the Financial Controller, assume responsibility for completing essential daily tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Support the Accounts department with any ad hoc duties that may arise.
