Senior Accounts Assistant

Springfield Properties is recruiting for a motivated Senior Accounts Assistant to support our busy finance team. This full-time position is based in our Larbert office. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, exclusive of a half hour unpaid lunch break each day.
About the Role
You will support the finance team with overseeing the monthly management accounts production process. This will include posting general ledger journals and performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
The role will also involve the preparation of the monthly VAT return and overseeing and reviewing the finance team’s procedures and controls. There will also be involvement in forecasting and reviewing development costs issued to the Commercial team. You will also be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff, external clients or providers.
Additionally, you will be monitoring and liaising with processing staff regarding any queries in time for monthly cut-offs for the management accounts.
About you
- Qualified by experience;
- Educated to at least SCQF Level 5 in Maths and English, or equivalent;
- Able to work to deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities in a flexible and effective manner;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Calm under pressure with a willingness to undertake and learn new tasks;
- Able to prioritise and organise work;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, together with accuracy and attention to detail;
- Prior construction experience would be advantageous but not essential;
- Basic computer skills such as using word, excel, outlook and using the internet is essential.
