SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires educational attainments: 2.1 or above (or equivalent) in a numerate/scientific degree and an A / A* in A-Level Maths or equivalent
- Strong IT skills with practical experience (and/or desire to learn) in Excel, SQL, Python, R, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and DAX
- modelling and analytics in the (re)insurance industry is an advantage but not a requirement. Relevant experience from data science, consulting, commercial or personal lines also welcomed.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Actuarial Analyst role in the Actuarial Pricing & Analytics Team (more details on the team below). The team is a project-based team with limited BAU that works on key strategic priorities that are broader than any one market/product/region. Priorities include improving pricing & risk selection sophistication, digitising pricing models and delivering scalable analytics.
Candidates are not required to have an actuarial background or required to study for actuarial qualifications. Ideal candidates would have the capacity and desire for continuous and independent learning, a high rate of learning, are delivery focused, organised, and collaborative.
Whilst previous experience working in (re)insurance pricing/analytics teams is an advantage, it is not a prerequisite. We encourage candidates who display the key behaviours discussed above to apply. The role of analyst is typically held by graduate to part qualified experience level (or equivalent years’ experience).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pricing Models – Support the delivery of new pricing models and MI as part of the wider underwriting transformation including deploying new and updated models on all LSM platforms. These are on a mix of technologies from vendor based (Rulebook and Hyperexponential Renew), in house and Excel based platforms. Strategic direction is to limit usage of Excel and end user computing tools over time.
- Self-service analytics – Drive the delivery of insightful and timely self-service MI on portfolios, lines of business and key risks to drive better data driven decisions within key forums such as pricing committees, quarterly business reviews and deep dive
- Analytical projects – Collaborate, influence and lead development and rollout of analytical models (risk selection, portfolio monitoring, trend identification etc.) that help drive competitive advantage. Dynamically manage multiple analytics projects affecting multiple stakeholders ensuring quality technical delivery and good stakeholder management.
- Pricing governance framework – Be responsible for the delivery of projects in compliance against both internal and external standards.
