Description:

KEY ACTIONS

  • Manage the process for setting and updating actuarial assumptions based on experience studies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and reliable valuations.
  • Manage and direct the detailed analysis of historical data to monitor and evaluate the experience in areas such as claims, lapses and member engagement in the Vitality program.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of actuarial models used for experience monitoring and assumption setting, ensuring they are robust, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Identify and assess risks related to actuarial assumptions and experience and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in actuarial experience monitoring and assumptions setting (e.g. CMI model developments).
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation to support the assumptions used in valuations, ensuring transparency and auditability.
  • Clearly communicate findings and provide actuarial insights for decision-making.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior actuarial staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Ensure that all actuarial practices and assumptions comply with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • Engage with external and internal auditors on the valuation basis.

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS ALL ABOUT:

As a Senior Actuarial Manager within the Life Actuarial department at Vitality Life, you play a senior specialist and leadership role, responsible for analysing actuarial experience and setting actuarial valuation assumptions. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our financial models and projections, as well as providing key insights for strategic decision-making.
