Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing day to day administrative support to the University Secretary/Vice President Governance and the management team in the area.
  • Providing administrative support, information and communications related to Governing Body and Governing Body Committee members and being a key point of contact for Governing Body.
  • Timely preparation and monitoring of workplans for Governing Body and Governing Body Committees.
  • Timely development of agendas in line with workplans and key strategic activities of the University.
  • Collation (and where appropriate preparation) and distribution of Governing Body information, attendance at Governing Body meetings as recording secretary.
  • Collation (and where appropriate preparation) and distribution of Governing Body Committee and Subsidiary Company information, attendance at Governing Body Committee and Subsidiary Company meetings as recording secretary.
  • Liaising with the President’s Office to ensure cohesiveness between the workplan of Governing Body and Executive Management.
  • Updating, developing and providing input into key documents, reports and communications.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring the completeness key tasks such effectiveness reviews and corporate returns e.g. SIPO.
  • Taking responsibility for accurate record keeping and document retention in relation to governance and compliance matters.
  • Facilitating or being involved in key projects being undertaken by the University Secretary/Vice President Governance and the management team in the area.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders including e.g. EMT, HEA, DFHERIS, C&AG and providing those stakeholders with appropriate information and support.
  • Providing supervision or direction to other members of the team.
  • Any other relevant duties that may be allocated.
