ABOUT THE ROLE
Key elements of the role include developing and steering manufacturing engineering inputs to major programmes, supporting the business as subject matter expert, using manufacturing, automation, and quality knowledge to ensure all designs can be translated from prototype into repeatable and scalable production within programme time and cost constraints. As well as to develop and cascade best practice and standard ways of working across Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Manufacturing Engineering as applicable.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and steer manufacturing engineering inputs to support to the Production, Procurement and Programmes Teams on major programmes, including preparing and presenting at Gateway reviews.
- Drive best practice across the team and wider AME function including development of standard documents and processes; Capture and share best practice from within and outside of team; represent Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in development of cross-functional processes.
- Support the development manufacturing engineers through mentoring, training, and on-the-job guidance.
- Defining and leading the setup of med/high-volume production environments and the development of manufacturing processes to ensure production is conducted safely, on time and on budget.
- Defining facility layouts and equipment specifications required to achieve the production requirements.
- Lead the scaling up of low volume products & processes to support mass production volumes.
- Conduct equipment supplier investigation/appointment to establish a robust and capable supply base.
- Defining and leading the successful implementation and delivery of specific Advanced Production Quality Plans for new product introduction.
- Map processes and where necessary utilise techniques such as PFMEA’s and control plans.
- Produce and maintain SOPs, build records, process routings and production documentation.
- Devise and own specific elements of the quality improvement road map supporting the Quality Management System, our compliance to ISO9001:2015, and any project specific quality requirements.
