Overview: Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Programs Manager! This individual should possess the functional skills of business acumen, financial analysis, and relationship management and demonstrate competencies such as adaptability, collaboration, critical thinking, a drive for results, and innovation. This position functionally reports to the Category Management & Continuous Improvement Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of assigned strategic programs while cultivating and expanding internal and external partnerships.
- Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations.
- In collaboration with key Stakeholders, ensure program strategies align with business objectives across multiple functions and business units.
- Lead training initiatives to promote the education of assigned programs.
- Identify industry best practices by conducting research consisting of external benchmarking, attending conferences, and gaining insight from internal and external partners.
- Leverage data and technology to analyze data; identify and execute opportunities to support business objectives.
- Responsible for governmental reporting based on assigned strategic programs.
- For assigned projects, develop, implement, and manage all activities, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and recommend value-added initiatives.
- Stay abreast of international, domestic, industry, enterprise, and Supply Chain standards, frameworks, trends, opportunities for improvement, and leading practices
- Support the Category Management and Continuous Improvement Director in analyzing and interpreting data for decision-making and supporting the SC Transformation and Continuous Improvement strategy development and execution program. Utilize total cost of ownership and should-cost/forecasting modeling to identify and deliver value to meet the business’s needs.
- Support the Category Management and Continuous Improvement Director in developing comprehensive and actionable savings plans. Utilize knowledge and experience in Supply Chain methods, best practices, processes, data, benchmarking, and reporting information to help persuade senior leaders in all business units to champion efficiencies and cost reduction/savings plans.
- Support, coach, and lead cross-functional project teams of subject matter experts to quickly execute significant cost savings/cost reduction strategies and plans as part of the program.
- Aid in developing and maintaining a strategic savings project pipeline (i.e., Value Capture Plan Tracker) that documents current and upcoming opportunities. Work with the BPOs - Business Product Owners (i.e. AP, Supply Chain, Title & Contract, Material Master, Vendor Master) to review and resolve potential impacts on business requirements. Also, provide details that will allow BPOs to determine the level of impact for configuration, enhancement, and testing required to align the system with the cost savings activities.
- Aid in developing, maintaining, and rolling out a strategic data products and process improvement project pipeline, perform testing, develop and provide training to the organizations impacted by these projects.
- Thrive in a dynamic environment with planned and unplanned needs. Quick to adapt as business needs to adjust. Must have a passion for continuous improvement and a history of successful change management.
- Experience showing a successful track record that shows a deep understanding and usage of Strategic (i.e., strategic sourcing, negotiations, commodity management) and Tactical (i.e., PO issuance, tactical sourcing, Invoice Resolution, transportation management, etc.) Supply Chain capabilities and processes.
- Evidence of success working across functional boundaries to identify, develop, and create shared organizational value.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Eight (8) – Fifteen (15) or more years experience required in procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management, training, data development, process development, systems analysis, and critical analysis and evaluation of data, financials, and market data.
- Travel requirements: 25% or less.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Level 2 (P2)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3 or more years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management, critical analysis and evaluation of data, financials, market intelligence, or related field.
Professional Level 3 (P3)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 5 or more years of procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management or related field with intermediate knowledge of contracting processes and intermediate concepts of negotiations.
Professional Level 4 (P4)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 8 or more years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management, critical analysis and evaluation of data, financials, market intelligence, or related field.
Professional Level 5 (P5)
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 13 or more years of progressively responsible procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, contract management experience or related field.
