THE OPPORTUNITYÂ

Our Total Rewards team is seeking an energetic professional to join us in our Calgary office. In this key role, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of our retirement and benefits programs.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Total Rewards, you will be a critical member of the team supporting approximately 600 employees across both Canada and the U.S. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise and grow your career. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•   A relevant undergraduate degree with minimum 8 years of pension and benefits experience in a mid-sized corporation; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
•   Experience with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, group savings (RRSP and TFSA), 401(k) plans, and Canadian and U.S. benefits plans.
•   Solid attention to detail and time management skills.
•   Problem solver with critical thinking skills including an aptitude to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic organization.
•   Highly motivated to work in an open team environment, employing a collaborative, continuous improvement mindset.
•   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Â
•   Consistently deliver exceptional customer service with an ability to resolve inquiries in an effective and timely manner.
•   Exceptional judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential matters and working collaboratively with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•   Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Pension Plan Administrator Certificate (PPAC).

Responsibilities:

•   Provide subject-matter expertise on Canadian and U.S. group benefits and retirement programs.
•   Oversee compliance and governance of the programs including Pension Committee material preparation, regular reporting, renewals, and cost estimates. Maintain strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
•   Prepare complex modelling, analyses and reports and provide recommendations.Â
•   Develop communication materials to enhance the understanding of programs.
•   Engage with HR Business Partners, Payroll, and third parties to resolve issues.
•   Liaise with members of the Total Rewards team to ensure data transfers and processes related to the day-to-day operations of the programs are working smoothly. Help to develop the pension and benefits expertise within the team.
•   Ensure vendors deliver an exceptional customer experience to employees.
•   Coordinate operational activities of the programs including leading the annual U.S. annual benefits enrolment.
•   Complete benefits surveys and monitor external competitive practices through research and peer networking.
•   Regularly review and recommend updates to retirement and benefits programs and processes to ensure consistency, clarity, compliance, and drive continuous improvement.Â
•   Partner with other members of the Total Rewards and HR teams, vendors, actuaries, consultants, and other internal and external stakeholders, to implement solutions that attract and motivate employees.
