Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND CAPABILITIES
- Experience providing a startegic approach to managing workers’ compensation in a large organisation including exprience providing early intervention support and return to work
- Experience in developing and implementing WHS programs to enhancr organisational capability in hazard management and workplace safety
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience developing management pland for psychological injuries and illnesses
- Proficiency in preparing briefd and reports will be highly regarded

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Advisor, Work Health and Safety, is pivotal in promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace culture at Legal Aid NSW. This role oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of WHS projects, which also includes wellbeing, injury management and workers’ compensation initiatives, aligning with Legal Aid NSW’s strategic priorities. It ensures compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement in safety and wellbeing outcomes.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE
You must:
- be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and
- hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Human Resources or equivalent extensive demonstrated experience in WHS and an understanding of current legislation and policy.
