Description:
THE TEAM
The Banking Division is responsible for the supervision of all authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADIs). It supports APRA’s core function through prudential supervision and risk assessment activities to support the government and APRA’s objective of maintaining a prudentially sound financial system.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As a Senior Analyst you will undertake high quality financial and non-financial risk analysis of the entity and peers, confidently engage stakeholders, and effectively support the Senior Manager in executing the team’s supervision strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify prudential risks and raise concerns before they manifest;
- Undertake financial and non-financial analysis and apply knowledge of APRA’s prudential standards and guidance to support high-quality analysis and risk assessments;
- Engage and collaborate with teams across APRA, including specialists, supervisors, and policy advisors, as needed to address supervisory issues;
- Produce succinct, accurate and timely briefings and documents for executives and senior management;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of market and industry developments that may have an impact on supervised entities and/or APRA’s supervision approach;
- Good understanding of the banking industry and its risks; and
- Good knowledge of APRA’s prudential standards and guidance for ADIs.
