Senior Analyst, Compensation

Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, the Senior Analyst, Compensation is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of compensation programs for Brookfield Asset Management. The Senior Analyst will leverage advanced data analysis skills to provide insights, prepare reports, and contribute to the execution of compensation initiatives that align with Brookfield’s compensation philosophy of long-term focus.
Responsibilities

Compensation Program Support

  • Participate in relevant compensation surveys, and other vendor-led external events / forums, for benchmarking purposes, and market trend analysis
  • Complete salary surveys globally, interpreting data and performing analysis and data modelling for base pay compensation, short and long-term incentive pay programs, and related employee costs
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions and BI tools to assess compensation outcomes, including pay gaps, incentive participation by role and region and gender pay equity analysis
  • Contribute to maintaining competitively positioned compensation structures and employee positioning through data-driven insights
  • Stays current on trends in compensation related to laws, market practice, and governance issues

Annual Compensation Review Process

  • Support the management of the annual year end compensation process
  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of technology platforms used for compensation decisions, leveraging technical expertise to improve processes
  • Partners with HR in the rollout of year-end related activities, providing analytical support to HR

Investment Compensation Plan Management

  • Support the management of carried interest and other fund-related incentive plans
  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of technology platforms used to manage plans, focusing on data integrity, process improvements, and enhanced reporting capabilities
  • Assist in the annual grant process, including establishing new grants in the technology platform, preparing annual award letters, vesting and forfeitures
  • Support the calculation and implementation of incentive payments

Compensation Projects & Data Management

  • Develop compensation analytics and contribute to improving the use of data and insights across the organization
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes and service levels
  • Providing analytic support for the execution and administration of compensation programs
  • Create and review complex Excel models and BI dashboards to ensure reliable and actionable findings
  • Support project management on a range of compensation and equity-related projects, including stakeholder interviews, communications, and training
  • Build consultative and collaborative relationships with HR and business partners including operating companies and other related organizations

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5+ years of related compensation experience
  • Must be analytical with a quantitative mindset
  • Highly proficient in Excel, can develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and data modeling / analytics capability
  • Strong problem-solving, project management and strategic thinking capability
  • Able to work independently to conduct research, analyze information and data and present findings in a concise format
  • Strong communication and presentation skills when working with high-level internal stakeholders
  • Influence and develop collaborative working relationships with multiple partners
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Knowledge of HR principles and practices
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with the ability to create interactive dashboards an asset
  • Knowledge of equity compensation plans and equity administration system (i.e., Shareworks) an asset
