What’s it like working as a Senior Analyst, Credit Risk - Digital Banking at Community Trust Company?

The Sr. Analyst, Credit Risk will be responsible for credit risk-related modeling, monitoring, reporting, analytics, and insights. This involves the following:

  • In-depth understanding of the available data to perform their responsibilities.
  • Ability to develop, validate, execute, monitor, and refit risk, loss, and/or revenue models (e.g., probability of default modeling for IFRS 9, risk scorecards). The types of models may vary, such as statistical and non-statistical forecasting models.
  • Performing periodic or ad-hoc analyses on large datasets using data analytics tools and software, such as Python, SAS, SQL, BIG Query, and Power BI, and generating reports and insights regarding the performance of models, products, and portfolios in aggregate and at a segment level.
  • Leveraging cutting-edge analytics and subject matter expertise to generate insights and forecasts on credit risk-related topics such as portfolio performance and losses, at an aggregate or segment level. Make insights-driven recommendations related to the portfolio, credit strategy, and credit risk-related methodologies.
  • Working with outside teams and/or organizations to incorporate recommended changes in the relevant processes/products, such as credit strategies and the associated decisioning process, and loss or forecasting models.
  • Designing and automating dashboards, including executive level dashboards, using state-of-the-art technologies and tools

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Developing, validating, executing, and monitoring risk, loss, and revenue models
  • Help the credit risk team develop underwriting criteria for adjudication of retail lending products
  • Supporting the implementation of models and strategy in the production system working with Technologies
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for reports, models and strategy
  • Tracking credit strategy performance
  • Conducting model performance tracking and validation
  • Conducting credit risk analytics and working with a senior member of the team to develop recommendations on credit strategy or tactic
  • Loss forecasting
  • Portfolio reporting
  • Proactively identifying issues and conducting additional analytics to get to the bottom of questions
  • Providing special emphasis on the credit risk metrics ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the reporting
  • Translating broad business questions into actionable analytical steps
  • Help a senior member of the team to compile different analyses together to tell a compelling story

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis in financial services, preferably in retail lending
  • 1+ years of experience in credit risk management
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

Additional kudos if you…

  • Experience with credit card and mortgage portfolios is preferred
  • Proficiency in designing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI is preferred
  • Experience developing risk, valuation, and forecasting models, including experience with machine learning is preferred.
  • Experience with BIG Query is preferred
  • Power BI certification and experience coding in native Microsoft Power BI language for data manipulation is preferred
