Description:

CONTRACT TYPE: PERMANENT

At Luton Rising, we are dedicated to driving sustainable economic growth and prosperity for the Luton community. As the organization behind London Luton Airport, our mission extends beyond aviation, focusing on creating opportunities for growth, both within and outside of the airport.
We are looking for a passionate and data-driven Senior Analyst/Data Scientist to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. You will be integral in providing in-house business analysis and insights to drive more informed decision-making and strategic planning. Your expertise will help us improve business planning, develop stronger business cases, and ultimately enhance non-airport revenue streams. You will also support commercial negotiations and proactively address the commercial risks and challenges encountered in past projects.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a genuine passion for data. Key skills and experiences include:

  • Data Problem-Solving: Experience translating complex business issues into data problems and providing actionable solutions.
  • Data Visualisation: Proven ability to create clear, engaging data visualisations that simplify complex data for stakeholders.
  • Multitasking & Deadline Management: Experience balancing competing priorities and working effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Passion for Analytics: A genuine curiosity to investigate, understand, and explain data patterns and trends.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, including employing basic statistical techniques and modelling a variety of scenarios.
  • Technical Expertise: A good working knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or R.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, without the use of jargon.

ABOUT US

Our ambitious Luton 2040 Vision – that no-one in Luton will have to live in poverty – is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that our people are remarkable, talented, committed and passionate about serving our residents.
The people of Luton depend heavily on this council – and that means our workforce! Are you ready to realise the remarkable and help us deliver our vision?
