Job Description
A Senior Analyst is primarily focused on client modeling projects as well as on supporting, modeling and enhancing our internal data sources. The position will require consulting with Sales personnel and external clients to scope out clients’ modeling needs, staying close to the Product team supporting TSP or Shopper’s Voice, educating Data associates on proper statistical principles and methodology, creating SAS/Python programs specific to a project or for internal use to be shared within the group. This position may have assigned clients for which the Senior Analyst is accountable for all statistical deliverables.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accountable for accurate, on-time delivery of all statistical deliverables for assigned book of accounts, if applicable, and staying on top of the work queue for standard requests into the Data Analytics team
  • Support Sales by attending client meetings and conference calls
  • Independently build and present statistically sound models using current, standard programs
  • Apply industry techniques/ideas/trends to current systems
  • Consult/explain complex statistical ideas to both internal and external clients
  • Translate clients needs into project plans
  • Work with internal departments to troubleshoot a variety of problems. Effectively explain results of troubleshooting
  • Lead statistical training on standard models to other departments
  • Employ sound statistical techniques
  • Find creative solutions when standard programs are inadequate.
  • Evaluate and improve current modeling methodology
  • Research new products and applications of Epsilon Data assets
  • Identify and seek improvements for current systems
  • Lead small scale complexity projects and conduct medium- to high-level complexity projects
  • Develop project plans for improving the current processes
  • Consult with other departments on ways to improve systems
  • Develop strong working relationships with key people in other departments
  • Provide statistical training to stats department
  • Serve as a consultant to Analysts and Junior Analysts
  • Write new PySpark/Python or SAS code, transfer SAS into PySpark when necessary, improve current code, and understand all code being used.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Thorough knowledge of statistical methods (linear, logistic, cluster, factor, anova, etc.) and statistical principles (sampling, inferences, transformations, validations, etc.)
  • Experience with ML techniques.
  • Ability to conduct large scale projects and research through all stages: concept formulation, definition of metrics, determination of appropriate statistical methodology, research evaluation, and final research report.
  • Python, PySpark in Hadoop
  • SAS or equivalent programming: data step, procedures and macros
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques and procedures and knowing when their use is appropriate
  • Ability to effectively multi-task

  • Advanced degree in a statistical field, preferred
  • 2-4 years prior experience with data analysis or modeling with large transactional databases
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a statistical field
  • Minimum 1 year experience conducting original research
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with external clients in a business environment
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Familiarity with one or more of the Epsilon Data products and processes
  • Knowledge of Direct Marketing
    Salary Range: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 CAD
