We are looking for a highly motivated analyst to join our Investment Finance and Valuations team in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for portfolio analytic activities that support the private equity and infrastructure platforms of OMERS. Primary responsibilities include maintaining key financial models with large data sets, performing portfolio analytics, and conducting scenario analysis in support of both the Finance and Investment Teams, as required.

Responsibilities:
AS A MEMBER OF THIS TEAM, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Maintaining and updating excel-based financial models that support the valuation and strategic planning processes;
Assisting with the preparation of portfolio summary schedules and presentations as part of the internal management reporting process;
Performing portfolio impact analyses and scenario analysis that support capital allocation and investment decisions;
Liaising with Investments Teams to conduct ‘what if’ and scenario analyses to assess the impact on asset returns and overall portfolio exposures;
Assisting in the implementation of an ongoing portfolio management system development project;
Assisting with the development of annual operating budgets and forecasts and quarterly updates;
Working closely with other members of the Investment Finance team in order to ensure accuracy and completeness of analyses and documentation; and
Participating in special projects or duties, as required.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU HAVE:
2-4 years of accounting/ finance experience, prior exposure to the asset management industry is a plus;
Prior experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance considered an asset
CPA, CFA or CBV designation or enrollment in the CPA, CFA or CBV program is a plus;
General knowledge of financial and valuation analysis (i.e. financial statements, valuation methodologies, etc.);
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and the ability to work with complex financial models;
Prior experience in using PowerBI or Alteryx is a plus;
Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills;
Attention to detail;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to perform under time pressure and respond to unexpected events or circumstances;
Works on improving own knowledge, skills and aptitudes; and
A strong team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment with numerous priorities and deadlines with effective organization time management skills.
