KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develops an understanding of energy efficiency organization needs and priorities, including differences that may exist among customer segments.
- Applies critical thinking through insight gained via internal/external research, analyses, and best practices to aid in creatively designing solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Current knowledge of existing Mass Save programs and offerings preferred.
- Coordinates and helps develop strategy for business intelligence insights that support the Company’s energy efficiency and demand response objectives and reflect industry trends. Engages with wider Customer Organization within National Grid to ensure that goals and systems are aligned across the company.
- Ensures assessment and development of current and potential energy efficiency programs and policies are consistent with corporate goals and standards, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supports the development of strategic and tactical goals by providing insights based on currently available data and suggesting what future initiatives may be needed to continue successful delivery of the programs.
- Partners with strategy, marketing, implementation, and evaluation staff to understand customer and Company needs with respect to all Massachusetts energy efficiency products and programs.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the energy efficiency programs, other Program Administrators, information technology specifications and applications, government regulations and vendors. Provides regular communications and reports as to market drivers and changing trends.
- Supports data strategy with current program implementation vendors and works with dedicated vendors to perform analyses for PMs and vendors, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience in energy efficiency, decarbonization, energy policy, marketing and data analytics. Advanced degree/credits are preferred and can be substituted for years of experience.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and integrating those analyses across multiple energy efficiency programs and offerings.
- Ability to lead projects and collaborate across multiple teams.
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Expert in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of statistical software and GIS a plus
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under time and budget constraints.
- Bottom-line oriented, budget-conscious, metric/measurement driven.
- Advanced data visualization skills and experience creating intuitive and elegant dashboards and reports using visualization tools.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Analyst, within the Policy & Data team will focus their efforts on collaborating with other National Grid teams involved in data driven solutions to improve the delivery of Massachusetts energy efficiency and decarbonization programs. The candidate will focus their time on conducting quantitative analyses for specific projects that lead to targeted efforts to drive more successful programs. These projects include but are not limited to evaluating marketing efforts to determine successes, evaluating opportunities for increased adoption for energy efficiency measures, and collaborating across teams at National Grid regarding non-pipes alternative (NPA) and non-wires alternative (NWA) solutions. The successful candidate will closely coordinate with product owners, project managers, marketers and implementers to understand goals, current gaps in existing data and programs, and to develop and support and lead new projects that aid in the achievement of the company’s goals.
