MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in voice/data communications.
- College degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- CCNP or equivalent experiences.
- Senior level hands-on knowledge of Palo Alto NG Firewall Systems, including advanced functionality.
- Senior level hands-on knowledge of Cisco Router and Switches, including advanced functionality.
- Senior level hands-on understanding of telecommunications technologies (Internet, and MPLS) is required.
- Thorough knowledge of the OSI protocol stack, and experience with routing and switching technology is essential.
- Working knowledge network troubleshooting tools (Network General Sniffer, Wireshark, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of WAN optimization technologies such as Silverpeaks.
- Experience with Aruba wireless technology.
- Hands on experience with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, NMIS, ThousandEyes.
- Familiarity with Network/Voice Operations processes and procedures.
- VOIP experience is a plus.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Amazon Web Services or other cloud technology.

Responsibilities:
- Strong technical knowledge in networking within one or more disciplines:
- Cisco Routing and Switching, Network security and network management, Palo Alto Firewall Services, Silverpeak WAN optimization, Aruba wireless systems, and other IP and Voice services.
- Mentor Tier 1 engineers.
- Must be willing to provide Tier 3 network, firewall and voice infrastructure support.
- Manage strategic projects/issues in a complex infrastructure and generate associated device configurations.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure problems, including response time issues, downed circuits, misrouting of data/ voice calls, etc.
- Place orders for all voice and data circuits and ensure billing issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner. Ensure disconnection of circuits in closed locations.
- Coordinate installation of new circuits and moves of existing circuits.
- Work in a global engineering team environment.
- Must be willing to work other than normal business hours, including project work during weekends, and response to pager/cell phone 24x7.
- Must be able to work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
