Job Title: Senior Analyst, Research and Data Analytics
Duties: National Association of Counties Research Foundation seeks a Senior Analyst, Research and Data Analytics in Washington, D.C. to conduct data analytics. Support developing and programming surveys and research projects by analyzing and interpreting data. Develop data visualizations. Author research reports, briefs, and articles and contribute to research projects authored by other team members. Develop survey questionnaires and quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments using Qualtrics and other survey tools. Complete research projects from start to finish, including research design, compiling datasets, and collaborating with the research team to create reports, briefs, and other publications. Research survey design, program questionnaires, and test sample surveys. Utilize STATA, R, Qualtrics, SAS, or Python to review datasets for research products, including County Explorer, individualized profiles, reports, and other research requests. Maintain datasets by compiling and cleaning datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality control, conducting statistical testing, and preparing written descriptions of data collection methodologies. Collect and organize information and data for research products from interviews with county leaders, state statutes, federal agencies, and other sources. Compute and update summary statistics for NACo’s advocacy and communication purposes. Ensure that data sources are valid and verify accuracy through fact-checking, number-checking, and validation. Local telecommuting available up to 2 days per week. Salary: $78,603 - $80,000/year.
Minimum Requirements: Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field plus one year of data analytics experience. Must have at least one year of experience in each of the following: 1. Developing data visualizations; 2. Developing survey questionnaires and quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments; 3. Completing research projects, including research design, compiling datasets, and collaborating with the research team to create reports, briefs, and other publications; 4. Utilizing STATA, R, or Python; and 5. Maintaining datasets by compiling and cleaning datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality control, conducting statistical testing, and preparing written descriptions of data collection methodologies.
