What you’ll be doing
The Senior Analyst, Risk Analytics and Portfolio Management is responsible for analysis and reporting tasks such as collecting and cleaning of data from multiple sources, generating reports for monitoring risk, and implement logic for interactive dashboards. The role applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to produce capital estimates, generate queries and post-analysis that enable the monitoring and development of risk business intelligence activities. The Senior Risk Analyst supports risk management teams and helps deliverables to evolve and reflect best practices, partnering with key stakeholders to identify data quality improvement opportunities including risk system, process design and quality assurance controls. The role works with limited direction to analyze the test impact of requirement changes, maintaining test plans and scenarios as needed to ensure accuracy.

How you’ll succeed
- Risk analysis: Support Managers and Directors in development, enhancement and maintenance of risk reports, credit portfolio management, and managing dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, etc. Help gather and clean data from multiple sources such using SQL queries and process information using programming languages for reporting dashboards. Support RWA/RC analytics functions, produce Economic Capital estimates, create risk reports, and aid team managers in developing analytics capabilities, as well as any ongoing ad-hoc risk analysis. Participate and collaborate in the creation of a culture that promotes analytics-driven decision making.
- Reporting: Compile data to support a variety of reporting requirements regarding credit risk and financial statement analysis. Generate other regularly scheduled or ad hoc reporting for the division as required. Coordinate with the risk analytics teams, finance functions and Global (Parent) CIBC teams for risk reporting and enhancement.
- Communication: Support written communication by drafting a variety of documents describing all developed and developing models within division. Create professional PowerPoint or Power BI Dashboard covering regularly reports or special projects and proposals for senior management. Work collaboratively on special projects and assignments from other departments and provides professional support.
Who you are
- You demonstrate 1 to 3 years’ experience in risk analytics/reporting or related work experience. You are skilled with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and other reporting frameworks. Proficiency with Python and / or R, and the associated analytics packages would be helpful. Nice to have exposure to third-party Tools, such as Microsoft Azure, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Python Plotly. Excellent research skills and analytical capabilities
- You have a Bachelors /Master (preferred) degree with major in economics, statistics, finance, analytics, computer science, or related area. It’s an asset if you have completed or are enrolled in professional designation programs such as CFA/PRM/FRM.
