Description:

THE TEAM

The Banking Division, which includes the FRST branch, is responsible for the supervision of all authorised deposit-taking institutions including banks, building societies and credit unions performing banking related functions in Australia.
FRST is the centre of excellence for financial risk analysis, within specialised teams, and acts as broader centres of excellence for other divisions within APRA. Specialist teams provide advice to frontline supervisors to enable them to fulfil their supervisory function.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As a Senior Analyst / Risk Specialist in the Liquidity Risk team within the Financial Risk Specialist Teams (FRST), you will perform assignments across all of APRA’s supervised entities.
You will be a subject matter expert on liquidity risk and deliver premium insights and demonstrate sound judgement to internal and external stakeholders to support APRA’s objective of maintaining prudentially sound financial system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering in-depth analysis, risk assessment, and problem solving in collaboration with other members of the Liquidity Risk team and internal stakeholders;
  • Reviewing documents and reports pertaining to liquidity risk and derive meaningful insights to support APRA’s ongoing supervision;
  • Identification of emerging risks and prioritisation of existing risks ensuring adequate coverage, providing sound assurance as to the resilience of the financial system;
  • Maintain up-to-date and relevant knowledge of issues impacting liquidity risk profiles within regulated institutions and within the Australian financial systems; and
  • Contribute to the policy development related to liquidity risks.
