The role requires deep technical skills and significant people skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

You must have a grasp of tax accounting and compliance concepts and an awareness of tax issues facing a fast-growing multinational. You will work within the tax team, helping to shape internal tax processes and supporting new products. In your role you will work with highly motivated, exceptionally skilled, multi-cultural team members
What You’ll Do:
- Configuration and Maintenance of Vertex: Ensure the accurate setup of tax rules and rates, integrate tools with existing systems, manage tax compliance updates, and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and accuracy in tax calculations and reporting systems.

- Support Reporting and Data Solutions: Assist the tax reporting team in understanding objectives and delivering reporting and data solutions to meet Uber’s data requirements.
- Continuous Improvement. Stay updated on the latest tax regulations and Vertex software updates to ensure Uber is leveraging the most current features. Identify opportunities or process improvement and automation with the tax function.

- Collaborate with Business Partners: Work with business partners to define tax-specific scope, goals, and deliverables with respect to new launches or changes in the business model or tax environment.
- Monitor Operations: Help monitor ongoing operations, identify and communicate problems promptly, and facilitate creative solutions to resolve blockers in a timely manner to support business operations.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively across teams regarding priorities, status, and delivery.
- Support KPI Development: Assist in developing and implementing KPIs for ongoing tax reporting metrics and special projects.
