The Senior Analyst is responsible for managing and coordinating projects arising from the First Nations University of Canada strategic plan and other initiatives related to the operations of the Institution. The Senior Analyst provides research, analysis, writing and project management expertise in the preparation and development of plans, review and development of University processes and policies and provides support in the area of issues management.
In carrying out these duties, the Senior Analyst reports to the President and works closely with the executive and executive officers as well as working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the University.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in a related and a certificate in project management is beneficial. Five (5) years related experience in research, analysis, report writing and project management.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Understanding of processes required for developing and monitoring strategic plans
- Understanding of project planning processes and management
- Problem solver who works cooperatively, respectfully and inclusively
- Understand and be able to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment, working well under time pressures with simultaneous activities, and takes initiative
- Have superior communication skills: written as well as verbal and non-verbal that will engage, inspire and motivate key stakeholders
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow tasks and ideas through to completion
- A high degree of flexibility and adaptability in order to respond to changing needs
- Ensures that deadlines are met

Responsibilities:
- Provide support to ensure the development and maintenance of policies, processes and associated programs reflect priorities of the Leadership Team and align with University strategic goals as well as initiatives related to its operational and reporting requirements
- Contribute to the strategic planning, policy development and operational process by ensuring the research, data and information resourced by the Executive Leadership is sufficiently rigorous and comprehensive to support the development of viable strategic and operational plans
- Participates in the preparation and development of the University’s strategic and operational plans, including stakeholder consultation and preparing and writing sections of strategic planning documents; and documents this progress.
- Maintain an overview of initiatives across the organization to identify synergies, opportunities and overload
- Reviews and analyzes University administration policies and processes and recommends changes/revisions/additions where required
- Supports funding requests, preparing project budgets and project reporting
- Acts as liaison with committees and task groups collaborating with key people to ensure project success
- Tracks the progress of all new and current projects/programs and processes arising from the University’s strategic and operational planning process
- Identifies develops, implements, and provides ongoing project management support for innovation projects and other initiatives required by the University
- Manages projects and provides advice to the Leadership Team Support the President and the President’s Office where required.
