Description:

We are looking for a Senior Android developer to join our team building the next generation mobile applications to serve our IoT fleet. You will be joining a global development and design team working in a modern, native Android stack.
We offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from our London, Ontario hub or remotely from anywhere in Ontario. This is a 1 year contract position.

WHO ARE YOU IDEALLY?

  • Interested in technology and committed to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest Android developments.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant area
  • Commercial development experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • 5+ years experience using Android SDK.
  • Experience working with Bluetooth connected IoT devices.
  • Familiarity with Android’s Performance and Testing frameworks,
  • Familiarity with the best in class Software development practices including CI/CD and Analytics platforms (CircleCI, Amplitude).
  • Capable of operating autonomously given priorities.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build modern, reliable, and efficient android applications using Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, global teams including UI/UX, engineering and customer teams.
  • Contribute to shared libraries, product showcases and user feedback sessions.
  • Write test code to test for quality, robustness, and functional correctness, including edge cases.
  • Define API Interface requirements and collaborate with the back end development team.
