Romero Games is looking for a Senior Anti-Cheat Programmer to join our growing team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the fairness of our game, staying one step ahead of cheat developers and making sure our systems are as bulletproof as possible. As part of a thriving independent development studio you will have a significant impact and contribute on multiple levels to the games we make.
Ideally, you can relocate to join us in Galway, Ireland, but a remote role is also possible for the right candidate in a European timezone. In your cover letter or email, please note your preference (remote/hybrid/onsite in Galway).
The target start date for this position is February 2025.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Design and develop anti-cheat systems across client and server to prevent cheating and abuse
  • Collaborate with designers, and engineers to ensure a fair and enjoyable player experience
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the game’s design to implement effective anti-cheat measures
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to stay ahead of cheating tactics
  • Provide regular updates and reports on anti-cheat measures and their effectiveness
