Job Description:
As the Senior Application Engineer / Scientist - Sensors and MEMS, you will play a crucial role in integrating advanced sensor technologies within microfluidic systems for environmental analysis and pioneering neuromorphic sensor concepts. You will be responsible for designing, validating, and optimizing sensor technologies using ATLANT 3D’s advanced Direct Atomic Layer Processes (DALP), ensuring groundbreaking advancements in sensor technology.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to push the boundaries of sensor applications in environmental and neuromorphic systems. This is a cross-functional role where you will collaborate directly with engineering, R&D, and business development teams to drive innovation and contribute to ATLANT 3D’s growth. Your goal will be to align technical expertise with business acumen, helping us create impactful technologies and foster industry collaborations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the integration of sensors into microfluidic systems for environmental monitoring applications.
- Oversee the development of neuromorphic sensors, leveraging advanced materials and cutting-edge fabrication techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and validate sensor technologies using ATLANT 3D’s Nanofabricator.
- Engage in business development activities, fostering partnerships and contributing to market research and segmentation analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive competitor analysis and develop compelling value propositions for sensor technologies.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of patents for innovative advancements in sensor technologies.
- Collaborate with industry leaders and partners to develop and refine sensor demonstrators and prototypes.
- Share technical insights, prepare documentation, and contribute to training materials for internal teams and customers.
Must-Have:
- Academic background: Master’s or Ph.D. in Sensors/MEMS/Electronics Engineering, Physics, Microfluidics, Material Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sensor integration within microfluidic systems and environmental analysis, as well as experience in neuromorphic sensor development.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure successful delivery.
- Technical proficiency in sensor design, microfluidics, neuromorphic engineering, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience in business development, including market research, segmentation analysis, and partnership management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage across various levels of the company and with external stakeholders.
Good-to-Have:
- Experience with process improvement tools, lean methodologies, or competitor analysis in related industries.
- Ability to analyze complex data, provide insights, and advise on strategic decisions.
- Innovative, proactive mindset with experience navigating dynamic and evolving environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage strong partnerships with industry and academic collaborators.
Key Expected Results:
- Achieve successful integration of sensors into microfluidic systems for environmental applications within the first 6 months.
- File patents for at least two novel sensor designs or technologies within the first year.
- Establish partnerships with key research and industry collaborators to drive the commercialization of sensor technologies.
