Our Senior Application Monitoring Engineer will monitor applications for anomalies and fix bugs in Java (and Go lang desired) to maintain reliable, scalable, observable microservices for enterprise-grade, multi-tenant SaaS products.
The position will be part of Identity Security Cloud group that develops governance features - Access Certifications, Access Request & Approvals, Password Management and Separation of Duties to connect and centrally control access to every application. We are re-architecting the product (while maintaining existing APIs and services); adopting diverse cloud-native technologies (persistence, messaging, analytical processing – to name a few) and enabling the product to scale seamlessly while providing a performant user experience. You’ll work with teams that are passionate about continuous improvement and agility in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Devise monitoring capabilities to analyze application behavior and performance
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and logging for our Identity Security Cloud platform services to proactively monitor, catch, and mitigate potential Staging/Prod impacting issues
  • Utilize run books to resolve issues and contribute to them for future issues
  • Drive the maintenance of efficient, maintainable, robust microservices to deliver medium-to-high complexity features
  • Set a high bar for code reviews and fortify the team’s coding/quality standards
  • Work in an agile environment, collaborate with peers on code reviews, testing and customer issues
  • Develop/adopt testing frameworks, test plans to improve code quality and continuous delivery
  • Continue to maintain the “We built it, we maintain it” SailPoint culture
  • Participate in the product OnCall and TechOps process
  • Leverage training plans and service leads to quickly ramp-up on our products and technical knowledge
  • As a member of a sustaining team, you will focus on handling customer issues and bug support

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience monitoring engineering production operations supporting a highly available environment for SaaS software or cloud service provider
  • 3+ years of experience in software development with Java, Spring Boot, and associated frameworks for infrastructure operations, and application management
  • Experience using cloud infrastructure environments, preferably AWS, and cloud-native technologies, preferably containerization technology and/or Kubernetes
  • Experience using monitoring, alerting, tracing, logging, and visualization tools like Pager Duty, Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, and Kibana
  • Experience using microservices in multi-tenant SaaS application
  • Experience using RESTful APIs for an API-first application architecture
  • Experience using SQL/NoSQL, EKS, Kafka, Redis
  • Strong understanding of Linux and networking
  • Experience working with remote teams (US time zones)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Desired

  • Professional experience in implementation of event-driven architecture.
  • Experience writing software applications in Go

  • Saturday through Wednesday
