Description:
Job Summary
For the Oils & Fats team part of Culinary Design in Brabrand, we are seeking a Senior Application Specialist to assist us in servicing our external and internal customers. You will be part of the Culinary (Meat, Meat Alternatives, Traditional Culinary and Oils & Fats) team based in Brabrand, Denmark - with an excellent category team and global knowledge sharing allowing us to challenge what’s possible and what will be the preferred Culinary solutions in the future.
Main Responsibilities:
- Servicing our European based customers within the Oils & Fats solutions (Margarines & Spreads)
- Execution of customer related tasks in close collaboration with colleagues in the group and across the entire organization
- Designing, executing and following up on projects, trials both internally and at customers facilities when required
- Seeking and developing new application solutions/concepts for the industry in line with the strategic objectives, that’s supporting market trends and new product launches
- Training customers and colleagues in application and related processes
- Supporting R&D projects and patents
- Building a strong network with our key internal stakeholders and external relation building with customers
- Participation in our knowledge sharing activities across IFF
Essential qualifications:
- Relevant educational background (preferred M.Sc. level combined with several years working experience from Food Industry).
- The ideal candidate has a strong background within the Oils & Fats/Margarines & Spreads Industry with a sound record of accomplishments.
- A thorough understanding of nutrition, general food chemistry (fats/crystallization) and ingredients (emulsifiers)
- Comprehensive technical insights (also hands-on) coupled with a good commercial sense
- Practical experience in working with manufacturing processes/pilot plants and analytical techniques, preferably within the Oils & Fats industry or similar
- Practical experience in working with methodologies and analytical techniques
- A positive attitude combined with a curious and creative mindset
- Self-driven, takes responsibility, acts proactively and is good in organizing own work tasks and with a strong personal drive to push tasks forward
- Structured working style – and acceptance of the trial results has not ended until the documentation is completed and knowledge learnt has been shared
- “Sufficiently” extrovert to enjoy interacting with and teaching and training customers and colleagues
- Readiness for working in a busy environment where things and priorities are changing fast
- Customer visits are part of the job, hence readiness for international travel (30-40 working days per year) across Europe and AMETI region
- Working well with people of different backgrounds and shows flexibility when required
- English on a professional level
- Good IT skills required
