JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of a BA in archaeology or anthropology with a concentration in archaeology. An MA in archaeology is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience conducting archaeological fieldwork including Archaeological Impact Assessments (AIA’s), excavations and archaeological surveys.
  • An associate or professional member of the BCAPA (British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists).
  • Must meet the requirements of the BC Archaeology Branch for Field Director section and be familiar with all policies and bulletins.
  • Familiarity with the archaeology of the Interior Plateau, and able to hold a Heritage Conservation Act permit.
  • Previous experience working with First Nations is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with writing and editing skills required for technical reports.
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Class 5 Drivers License.
