Job Description
AECOM’s Western Canada Transportation practice is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist for Alternative Delivery projects. The position will be based out of AECOM’s Western Canadian office located in Burnaby.
As a Senior Architectural Technologist/ Project Manager, the responsibilities for this position will include:
- Managing specific aspects of transportation projects using Alternative Delivery procurement including P3, Design-Build, Progressive-Design-Build, CM@R, and Alliance models.
- Managing a part of multi-disciplinary teams for large and complex transportation projects including Transit, Airports and other.
- Architectural Technologist/ Project Manager responsibilities can range from project capture, proposal, delivery, construction and commissioning phase, and close-out.
- As a Project Manager, the candidate will coordinate with the project team, project controls, quality managers, and business leaders to deliver projects. Over time, as the candidate grows in the role, this will include leading the development of scopes of work, establishing organization charts and building teams, estimating levels of effort / budgeting, assigning work, reviewing deliverables, coordinating between disciplines, tracking and reporting on progress.
- As Architectural Technologist, the candidate will lead technical aspects of projects, including technical design, details, coordination with specifications, review of specifications, coordination with engineers, leadership of technical aspects of the project and review of deliverables.
- The candidate may be required to contribute to capturing new work, including contributing to proposals, participating in client presentations and meeting clients for business development (e.g. building relationships, establishing teams).
- Attending and often managing meetings (internal and external)
- Supporting AECOM’s ISO quality process.
- Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) requirements. Includes completing all assigned training, reporting safety observations, incidents, and near misses, and adhering to client HS&E requirements when on-site.
- Collaborating with support teams from Finance, Legal, HR, Recruiting, Safety, and Procurement.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree+ 6 Years of relevant experience in experience in project coordination, technical design on large infrastructure and transit projects (including Alternative Delivery) OR Technical Diploma + 8 years of relevant experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Ideally 15+ years experience in project coordination, technical design on multiple large infrastructure and transit projects (including Alternative Delivery)
- P.Eng or Registered Architect in at least one Canadian Province.
- If an Engineer, eligible for P.Eng in BC. If an Architect then eligible for registration with AIBC.
- Have experience working with Transportation clients in BC.
- Have led the technical design of significant elements of projects valued over CAD$300m.
- Have a broad range of technical expertise that may include multi-disciplinary transit design, airport design, port design, or similarly complex and relevant project types.
- Have experience managing aspects of a complex project and experience with engaging directly with clients.
