We are looking for a Senior Asset Integrity Engineer, with extensive knowledge within WTG design and operations. You will be part of a highly dedicated team within the Asset Integrity Department, sitting in Integrated Operations to work within our Business Area Wind, Offshore, and Generation.
Generation is the organization that is fully accountable for the Asset performance of Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms. This includes operating the wind farms through optimization of revenues in relation to the power market and maintaining the wind farms in a healthy, safe, sustainable and cost-efficient way to ensure the best availability and full compliance with requirements.
Working within the Asset Integrity Department in TIM and Integrated Operations, the Senior Asset Integrity Engineer will work with a variety of stakeholders especially in Offshore Engineering, Generation and Operations, with a high focus on continuously improving the analytical platform capabilities to support operational excellence, and risk visualization.
YOUR ROLE
As our new Senior Asset Integrity Engineer focused on WTG Analytics, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders - particularly in Engineering, Generation, and Operations, to continuously improve our analytical platform and support operational excellence. You will provide data-driven insights to guide technical discussions with WTG OEMs on end-of-warranty issues, failure trends, and integrity risks related to mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of contracts (e.g., SWA, TSA), ensuring they align with technical objectives and risk mitigation strategies. You will lead the direction and growth of data analytics capabilities within Vattenfall Wind Power Operations, including backlog planning and solution prioritization while driving the continuous evolution of our Asset Integrity Management framework by working closely with other disciplines to ensure readiness for future projects. Furthermore, you will oversee root cause analysis and change management initiatives to address technical and operational challenges within the operating fleet and support the creation and update of key technology and process documents to maintain a robust approach to Asset Integrity Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of Technical Integrity Management and fully deployed to support our Asset Integrity Team:
- Continuously improve analytical platform capabilities to support operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Integrity Management to analyze failure trends and identify high-integrity risk areas related to mechanical, electrical, and SCADA systems in WTG’s.
- Drive the agenda for analytical opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support technical discussions with WTG OEMs, particularly in End of Warranty cases and technical challenges, providing data-driven insights.
- Set directions and enhance data understanding capabilities within the VF Wind Power Operations.
- Actively engage with the analytic team in backlog planning and prioritization of solutions.
- In Collaboration with the different disciplines across Generation & Engineering ensure data availability to support Risk Based & Condition based maintenance Programs
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES IN ASSET INTEGRITY:
- Provide technical leadership and direction in leveraging data technology solutions across the organization.
- Recommend enhancements for data technology (e.g., alarm handling systems, data analysis models) to strengthen site and back-office functions.
- Identify data needs and opportunities, communicating these effectively within the VF Wind Power organization.
- Collaborate with technology innovators to scale new solutions across the business.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to identify synergies in solutions and root cause analysis related to failures.
- Identify candidates for data-driven optimization of WTG performance and risk mitigation.
- Drive a customer-centric agenda, ensuring deliverables align with customer expectations through a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach.
- Provide data input for root cause analysis on significant integrity issues.
- Optimize systems, processes, and tools to ensure scalability for future portfolio growth.
- Advocate for and support the development of a data-driven culture within VF Wind Power Operations.
- Prepare learnings from internal and external projects by e.g. supporting regular technical exchange forums
- Ensure we drive the Development of our Integrity Management Framework
- Participate actively in the structuring and creation of our Integrity Management Team
To excel in this position, you need a minimum of five years’ hands-on experience with wind turbines, including troubleshooting and problem-solving. You will effectively bridge technical and commercial domains, bringing a forward-thinking, creative approach to solution development. In addition, you have solid practical knowledge of wind turbine software and electrical/mechanical systems, combined with extensive experience in data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Python) and the ability to produce clear, actionable reports for specialists and management. You thrive on teamwork and possess the drive, systematic work ethic, and positive mindset necessary to deliver high-quality results and foster strong collaboration across the organization. Fluent written and spoken English is essential, and you should be capable of turning complex technical and project challenges into practical solutions that support continuous improvement. Furthermore, you have:
- Experience in producing comprehensive data analysis reports for both technical teams and management
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis and a results-oriented, systematic approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all level
