Description:

To assist in ensuring that all necessary quality assurance test procedures are carried as required and reporting any failures to the appropriate staff. To assist in the carrying out of quality assurance test procedures on nuclear medicine equipment.To undertake administrative tasks such as patient bookings PAS.To undertake manipulation and handling of patient samples and radioactive substances following all required scientific, infection prevention and radiation procedures.To undertake iv access training to obtain blood samples and then to take patient samples as required for various nuclear medicine procedures.To record results and clinical details accurately onto ICE and Clinical Web Portal in accordance with written procedures. To assist with pathology requests e.g., pregnancy and pre / post procedure blood tests to include registering requests and escorting patients if required.To liaise with colleagues in other departments regarding appointments / chemotherapy /pathology results.To assist with and once trained to undertake end of day procedures including contamination monitoring of department.To assist with clinic preparation for assorted nuclear medicine procedures and then assist clinical staff in the running of these clinics.To assist with the preparation and decontamination of patient treatment roomsTo undertake routine audits of clinical and radiation procedures and assist in the improvement of such audits. To assist with storage and disposal of radioactive waste.To assist in the maintenance of records and any other administrative duties that may be required.To participate in any research/development/clinical trials within the department and support such developments.To complete CPD to the relevant required standard.To comply with Trust Infection Prevention procedures appropriate to the tasks being undertaken.To demonstrate a flexible approach to the needs of the Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Department.To conform to departmental policies and procedures.To undertake any other duties that may be required by the Consultant Radiographer which are appropriate to the post
