The Division of DCS is extremely varied, containing 10 specialities which each have their own opportunities and challenges - the Divisional Financial Advice team works incredibly closely with our operational colleagues to drive efficiencies and value for money, and is looking for someone with a shared passion to drive this forward, and join our team.
Reporting into the Financial Advisor, a permanent vacancy has arisen for a Senior Assistant Financial Advisor to provide financial advice, technical support and assistance to the Division of DCS, aiding with the delivery of a financial management and reporting service. This will include liaising with a wide variety of budget holders (clinical and non-clinical), having a keen eye for detail in month-end reporting, and line management for an Assistant Financial Advisor. Working within reporting timescales, and answering queries in a timely manner is a key work ethic of the team.
We offer an agile working policy - currently 20% office / 80% remote working and flexible working hours to be as amenable as possible for the individual whilst supporting business needs.
You will be responsible for managing the overspending cost centre process for the Division of DCS - preparing the working file, analysing variances and generating action plans with budget holders to mitigate issues. You will also maintain and analyse the general ledger so that the production of budget statements are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
You will produce reports to assist with the monitoring and review of the monthly financial position, creating strong relationships with budget holders and providing support with all financial matters.

To actively develop internal relationships and work with key stakeholders across the Trust.
To be responsible for personal and professional development.
Effectively monitor and maintain the general ledger for the Division of DCS.
Support the monitoring of performance against budget during the year, identify and analyse variances and take appropriate action promptly and effectively
Support the production of achievable financial plans for services in conjunction with the Financial Advisor.
Support the identification of the financial impact of developments and proposed service changes, including the identification of the impact on other services and directorates, in conjunction with the Financial Advisor.
Provides appropriate support to others to improve their knowledge and understanding of finance and budgets.
Maintain a current knowledge of the appropriate legislation and Trust policies and procedures relating to equality, diversity, and inclusion
