Description:

Responsible for the correct receipt of pharmacy stores from internal and external suppliers, ensuring the goods are checked against PMU indexes Identifying stock / supply problems and resolving them with the PMU office / Regional Drug Purchasing Centre and effectively communicating any issues to the Production Controller / Operations Manager Responsible for doing and overseeing the correct storage/stock rotation of PMU physical goods & check against the computerized system, looking at short dated materials to allow production to use up to avoid wastage , Unloading vehicles in the correct manor and as required using specialist equipment. Paying particular attention to the demands of the delivery schedule and/or to any special handling / storage requirements. Responsible for the correct, safe and timely dispatch of finish product according to PMU work instructions ensuring the correct boxing methodology is used in the dispatch of orders to Trust and non-Trust customers, according to the Good Manufacturing Procedures. Undertaking accuracy checks on Stores prior final receipt and dispatch, ensuring completion of the batch records and/or necessary paperwork.
Taking appropriate action to deal with any deviations as necessary to ensure patient safety is not compromised at any time in the preparation process. Assembling raw materials according to details recorded on batch sheets for products prepared within the Unit Labelling of manufactured products under the direction of a suitably qualified member of staff. Enforcement of quality management systems within the section including completion of documentation, maintenance of quality indicators and compliance with results of audits to ensure the standards of GMP required by the MHRA are met at all times. Act as co-ordinator of work within production support areas providing the staff with goods, information and a means of access to Senior staff.
Work with Production Technicians to ensure work is passed into the production areas to ensure customer deadlines are met. Record information in batch book and log books accurately and completely If required undertaking daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties within and outside the production areas as directed, including familiarity with spillage procedures and dealing with hazardous chemicals , to ensure that the appropriate working environment is maintained and that equipment is kept clean and maintained to the required standard Using dedicated computer-based labelling equipment to print labels for prepared products following detailed instruction sheets for each product Complying with Departmental WIs, Health and Safety documentation and written and verbal directions from senior staff. Maintaining safe systems of work within the section to ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act and NHS guidance Undertaking in-house training Contributes to the Pharmacy manufacturing workforce through participation in weekend and Bank Holiday working as require
