Description:
We are looking for Senior & Associate Ecologists (terrestrial, ornithologists and/or aquatic specialisms) to support the growth of our well established Ecology Team in Ireland.
This is a hybrid role. The positions can be based in our Dublin, Galway, Cork, Sligo and Kilkenny offices.
KEY SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
- A hard working and highly motivated individual - client focused with good interpersonal skills and team approach;
- Excellent field skills and a keen interest and understanding of Irish wildlife;
- Demonstrated field survey experience in ecology e.g. habitat classification (Fossitt), badger, otter, bat, bird and invasive species surveys;
- Proven knowledge of relevant Irish and European legislation e.g. Habitats Directive, Birds Directive, EIA Directive, and transposing Irish Regulations;
- Experienced in using GIS/ mapping systems;
- Excellent communication and report writing skills;
- Ability to record and process data efficiently and methodically;
- Full clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
- Commercial awareness, ability to define scopes of work and to deliver projects on budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A postgraduate qualification (MSc) in a relevant biological/ environmental science subject with an ecological component which includes practical experience;
- Degree in Ecology
Responsibilities:
The role involves taking the lead in the delivery of ecological impact assessment (EciA), ecological surveys and Appropriate Assessment (AA) and to develop our offering in nature-based solutions and regenerative/restorative designs.
You will be working with the team on multi-disciplinary projects across a wide range of sectors and liaising with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
