Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
Senior Associate, Master Data Management independently analyzes, reconciles, troubleshoots and reviews incoming and outgoing data/files/reports to ensure accurate performance/output generated by technology solutions and services. Serves as a mentor or project lead, allocating work to and reviewing the work quality of others. Interfaces with clients internally and externally to discuss project status, data issues and remediation recommendations. Analyzes and monitors files/data/reports to ensure quality of and accurate transfer, integration, translation, and reporting of data, reacting promptly to data quality metrics and client inquiries. Based on experiential analysis, execute complex data fixes, resulting in improved performance or accuracy. Contributes to the development of the standard operating procedures for the function. Interacts with data management and client support teams to identify trending issues and document root cause. Performs data mining and analysis to determine impact assessment. Employs a proven method for gathering data and model/articulate the proposed solution to complex business problems. Identifies, creates, and proposes solutions for complex, large scale data issues which requires in-depth analysis and custom data manipulations to resolve. Interfaces with clients internally and externally to discuss project status, data issues and remediation recommendations. Uses SQL for data mining purposes to troubleshoot data conditions in relational databases. Develops complex script solutions for data conditions in relational databases. No direct reports: provide guidance to less experienced colleagues as needed. Often serves as project lead, allocating work to and monitoring the work quality of others. Contributes to the achievement of related teams’ objectives.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE’RE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Typically requires 7-10 years of total work experience, preferably in securities or financial services.
SQL Skills required (2-4 years anonymous block data analysis querying skills)
Experience with custodial brokerage data (positions, transactions, valuations)
Experience troubleshooting reconciliation of transactions and positions in brokerage accounts.
Experience troubleshooting financial activity in direct business accounts (insurance, DTCC, DST)
Experience with batch file processing and ETL.
Alternative investment experience preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $56,000 and $120,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
