Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The transaction team are looking for an experienced Senior Associate to play a central role in driving the overall commercial strategy of the business. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Transactions and work closely across the cross-functional teams which include development, finance, operations, legal and other business units, to align project initiatives with organisational goals and to support the continued growth of the company to becoming one of the largest Independent Power Producer (IPP). This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in large-scale renewable energy, infrastructure or similar deals to join a market leading team and to play a key role in delivering business commercial success and continued sustainable growth.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- The role will involve optimising the current and future pipeline in terms of asset divestments / investments, joint ventures, partnership opportunities, project financing and to manage ongoing relationships with existing stakeholders
- Play a key role in preparing, managing and executing transactions
- Management of the due diligence process for each transaction
- Prepare and help execute comprehensive transaction documentation, including marketing materials, deal structuring, term sheets, agreements and contracts
- Collaborate with a multi-functional deal team across technical, legal and finance to deliver commercial success for each asset/portfolio
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential transactions, including financial analysis, risk assessment, market research and asset valuation to inform robust decision-making
- Identify and mitigate potential transaction risks, while proposing creative solutions and strategies to overcome transaction challenges
- Work closely with the internal financial modelling team to develop and maintain financial models, forecasts and analyses to support transaction evaluations and negotiations
- Collaborate closely across all internal functions including finance, legal, technical, operations, development, construction, asset management and energy trading to ensure transactions adhere to legal and regulatory requirements while aligning with the company’s strategic objectives
