Job Advert Description

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Working as part of a high-performing national team, you will advise clients (a number of which are household names) operating in a variety of sectors on a diverse range of data privacy matters and advising on technology contracts.

The role will include a range of key activities to include providing a first-class service to clients, proactive marketing/profile raising, exceptional client and team/office management. Examples of work you will be undertaking:

  • Advising on data privacy compliance and working with clients to formulate analysis and legal strategies;
  • Advising on data sharing and processing arrangements both on a stand-alone basis and inputting into wider commercial arrangements;
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of technology agreements, including consultancy agreements, outsourcing arrangements, SaaS licences and contracts for IT products and services;
  • Handling contractual work, including reviewing technology supplier terms and drafting documents such as IT infrastructure services and cloud solutions;
  • Assisting our national corporate teams with data protection due diligence and disclosures;
  • Researching and publishing articles, and giving webinars and seminars on topical issues such as AI;
  • Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships and proactively participating in business development activities;
  • Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures; and
  • Pro-active participation in department and firm-wide marketing initiatives.

The firm has a Career Development Framework which sets out the competencies we expect of those at these grades. For this role we require:

  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent with 6 years or more PQE in advising on data privacy and technology matters;
  • Excellent technical skills and innovative approach to their application;
  • Proven ability to take on responsibility, manage and progress matters independently where appropriate;
  • Strong client focus and service delivery
