Description:

Are you looking to further develop your career in a Top 200 law firm, within a busy, dynamic team serving nationwide clients of both substantial businesses and private individuals?
The Dispute Resolution team at Wilkin Chapman is growing. To support and enhance that growth, we are seeking an outcome-driven, motivated, and customer-focused Solicitor or Senior Solicitor.
The role is within the commercial litigation team. The team deals with a wide range of commercial litigation including disputes between shareholders and directors, partnership disputes, commercial fraud, and contract disputes. The team has a niche specialism in High Court employment litigation including injunctions for misuse of confidential information, unlawful team moves, breach of restrictive covenants and breach of contract.
The Dispute Resolution department as a whole deals with four main areas of work including commercial, property, regulatory and contested probate.
You will be an excellent communicator and be able to build relationships effectively with clients and colleagues alike. You will have an exceptional eye for detail and an organised, methodical approach. You will ideally have the ability to develop your own network. Previous experience of litigation is required for this role, preferably to include commercial or employment disputes. Individuals from an employment law background are encouraged to apply.

Your main duties will include:

  • Assisting the team with dealing with a wide range of litigation cases with a focus on commercial and employment-related litigation.
  • Regularly update clients as to the current situation of their case including regular updates on costs.
  • Attending court and conducting advocacy on behalf of clients or instructing counsel where appropriate.
  • Be involved with business development activities organised by the department or office.
  • Identify and follow up new business opportunities.
  • Delegate appropriate work to solicitors / paralegals / trainee legal executives and supervise the completion of the work.

With a full-service offering and a client base ranging from loyal, local communities to national and overseas businesses, Wilkin Chapman continues to grow, while our emphasis remains firmly on quality and innovation.
We know that happy, motivated employees are good for business, and a strong, forward-looking culture benefits everyone. Providing the tools and support to enable our people provides the foundation for success.
Our roots go back more than 120 years and we are now the largest law firm in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, with four regional offices and listed in the Lawyer UK 200. With well-established, niche expertise in specialist sectors, many of our solicitors and departments are ranked highly in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK.
We help and guide you on your career path, providing a great package of benefits and a superb sociable working environment. We’re a community of like-minded people ready to welcome your contribution
