Zaparas is an innovative and forward-looking legal practice dedicated to providing outstanding legal services. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our growing Motor Vehicle Accidents (TAC) team.
The primary focus of the role is to provide expert legal advice and services in assisting and supporting clients in accessing their rights and entitlements under the law. The role provides end to end file management from commencement through litigation to completion. Provide guidance and training to junior lawyers and legal support staff.

We are currently expanding our team and are looking for a Senior Lawyer with 6 plus years of post-admission experience and with a passion for Personal Injury Law.
Responsibilities:
- Direct management of a moderate volume of TAC files which include complex cases.
- Take instructions from clients, provide legal advice to clients via face-to-face or telephone including information on statutory benefits/serious injury applications.
- Oversee all matters pertaining to the file and make all relevant decisions. Supervise work of trainee lawyers, lawyers, legal assistants and support staff in the preparation of documents, briefs and court judgements.
- Prepare and follow through matters for Conciliation, Medical Panel and Court.
- Arrange appropriate medico-legal doctors requesting reports/records.
- Appear and advocate for clients at directions hearings, conciliations, pre-issue conferences, VCAT conferences and the like. Instruct in Court.
- Engage in negotiations with Defendant solicitors, instruct Barristers.
- Negotiate and chart a clear course of action based on sound reasoning. Ability to influence others to achieve a desired outcome.
- Effectiveness measured through settlement and outcome of cases.
- Develop skills of team members through work assignments and training.
- Actively participate in business development activities which seeks to grow the firm’s client base, standing and reputation.
