Role Purpose
We are hiring a highly skilled Senior Audio Producer to join our team and play a leading role in the creation and development of a daily sports podcast. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our current podcast slate (The Indo Daily, Crime World, The Left Wing, The Throw-In). In conjunction with the Group Sports Editor and the Group Head of Audio, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing a high-quality, engaging product that sets our daily podcast apart in the competitive sports media landscape.
The ideal candidate will have expert sporting knowledge and interest in a broad variety of sports including women’s sports. You will possess a vison and strategy for our sports audio output that will grow a strong community of listeners. You will have excellent editorial judgement, will devise a unique content strategy and are accountable for the quality of the finished product.
Role Responsibilities (Overview)
- Conceptualise, plan, and execute high-quality audio content for a daily sports podcast; including breaking sports news, informative analysis and live event coverage.
- Develop creative and innovative ideas for segments, interviews, and features to keep the content fresh, exciting, and in line with audience preferences.
- Lead and delegate end-to-end production; from pre-production, research to recording, editing, and publishing.
- Be a confident, engaging and authoritative on-air contributor and cover presenter.
- Work collaboratively with hosts, guests, the sports desk, and wider newsroom to implement and oversee seamless production workflows.
- Identify and secure the absolute best contributors.
- Give constructive feedback to presenters and guests to ensure the highest quality content.
- Work closely with sound designers, give clear feedback and direction in post-production to develop a consistent brand sound.
- Possess a strong understanding of audio recording and editing software/tools, staying abreast of industry advancements to improve production processes.
- Monitor audience analytics to access performance and adjust content strategies accordingly.
- Proactively seek opportunities to engage with the audience through social media, and other platforms to build a loyal, interactive listener base.
- Build and nurture relationships internally and externally.
- Cultivate beneficial working partnerships with outside sports agencies.
- Other duties as required.
Note: This role requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate the demands of a daily podcast production schedule.

Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)
- At least 6 years’ podcast or radio production experience, preferably within sports, with a recognised and demonstrated standard of excellence in production.
- 3rd level media/journalist qualification desirable.
- A portfolio or reel highlighting previous work in audio production.

Technical
- Extensive working knowledge of libel law and relevant legislation.
- Comprehensive sports knowledge and an interest in women’s sports.
- Editing skills (Adobe Audition and/or Protools) and experience of other relevant software (cms and transcription services).
- Data literate comfortable with all podcast platform metrics.
- Familiarity with sports analytics and statistical tools is a plus.
