Description:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; three years of experience i n the implementation of business information systems, preferably working with Election Equipment (DS200, Express Vote, Ballot on Demand, High Speed Scanners); supervisory/lead experience is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Responsibilities:

The Analyst will….

  • Oversee the technical infrastructure supporting voter registration and election administration systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address the technological needs of the automated systems in the office, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions to support voter registration, data analysis, reporting requirements and election management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to include system errors, performance optimization and data synchronization.
  • Perform all duties as Voting Machine Technician as appointed by the Electoral Board
  • Train staff on warehouse safety, equipment setup, and proper usage.
  • Develop training videos and materials for Officers of Election and facilitates voting equipment classes.
  • Coordinate technical support of voting machines in the field.
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of information alerting staff to new IT-related administrative procedures or services.
  • Assist with product evaluations and product implementation.
  • Create and maintain an inventory management system.
  • Assist in identifying business needs and business process improvement.
  • Participate in planning for future IT solutions.
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement best practices for elections security and cybersecurity in coordination with County IT security.
  • Perform data integrity checks.
  • Attend training workshops, product demonstrations, conferences, and technical briefings.
  • Stay abreast of technology changes.
  • Serve as the lead communication liaison on inquiries from the public and media about automated systems used in voter registration and election administration.
  • Monitor compliance with the State’s requirements of Locality Elections Security Standards and develop a Plan of Action for compliance.

Additionally, the Analyst will also:
Maintain documentation of testing as required by Code of Virginia
Provide notice to parties/candidates of L&A testing schedule.
Maintain inventory of and prepare testing supplies.
Maintain maintenance schedules and security of all voting equipment including documentation, vendor scheduling, transportation, etc.
Perform Logic & Accuracy Testing (L&A) of all voting equipment used in every election.
Assists with other projects.
Perform other work as required.
