About the role
- Management Grade B
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
- We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
- The base location for this role is Greggs House, Newcastle-upon-Tyne although there will be some opportunity to work from home
- Core hours are office hours Monday to Friday. We also operate a rota to cover out of hours support for major incidents
What you’ll do
- As Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (SAP) your day-to-day workload will involve:
- Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment hosting SAP technologies, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security)
- Collaboratively develop and implement robust security best practises using Microsoft technologies (landing zones, firewall rulesets, NSGs, ASGs, root certificate authority) with internal/external parties (e.g. penetration testing)
- Review and maintain highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure
- Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance
- Develop and run infrastructure as code (IaC) pipelines leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments
- Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
- Develop monitoring dashboards and implement alerting for critical processes using Azure tooling
- Review and administer policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss
- Participate in the planning and implementation of O/S patching using WSUS and CVE remediation

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Greggs as a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (SAP). Working within the SAP Technical team you will be pivotal in the provisioning and ongoing support of enterprise SAP environments within the Azure ecosystem.
You will be joining the team at a time of transformation as we deliver next-generation SAP systems hosted in Azure to the business, making this the ideal opportunity to develop the technologies and infrastructure that you will be supporting in BAU. You will also oversee the design, maintenance and monitoring of systems using Azure capabilities, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment.
The base location for this role is our Head Office in Newcastle Upon Tyne, although there will be some flexibility to work from home.
