Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As the Senior Backend Developer, you will not only be responsible for developing and delivering robust software solutions but also for leading and mentoring a small talented & motivated team. Your role will be pivotal in driving the technical direction of the team, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and scalability.
You will have the unique opportunity to shape UBIMET’s technology strategy, playing a critical role in building software products that transform meteorological and geospatial data into compelling customer solutions.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transform Data into Products: Lead the team in turning complex meteorological and geospatial data into innovative, user-friendly products.
- Design Scalable Solutions: Oversee the creation of scalable and maintainable services and APIs to provide weather data to a global audience.
- Lead and Mentor: Guide and support the backend development team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Hands-on Development: Actively contribute to coding using Python, Flask, Django, PostgreSQL, and Memcached, building robust backend systems.
- Optimize Core Systems: Ensure the development of efficient backbone components that support UBIMET’s range of products, with a focus on sustainability and scalability.
- Encourage Innovation: Promote the use of new technologies and practices that enhance performance and streamline development processes.
