THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the creation and delivery of software products that enable Zalando’s internal Software Engineers and Data Engineers to protect the personal data of millions of Zalando customers at rest, in use, and in transit.
As part of this critical technology team, you will play a key role in understanding the needs of our stakeholders and help shape the future of the platform. As a Software Engineer, you will be building, operating, improving, and extending data classification and privacy automation services, and working on products having a wide impact on many teams within Zalando.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient microservices
Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing code and improving overall system efficiency
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of microservices
Write code that is modular, readable, easily testable, and maintainable
Support and maintain already existing products
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and mentor junior team members towards a culture of high-quality code
Support and shape Zalando’s engineering community by sharing best practices, supporting junior team members and peers
