DESCRIPTION

The Senior Bid Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and leading bid management activities to ensure the successful delivery of a bid or a number of bids (tenders and proposals), through the full bidding lifecycle from Qualification through to Contract Award. They will need to manage and motivate bid teams, with expertise / resources drawn from across the company, ensuring that all have clear work allocations, an understanding of the evaluation criteria, objectives, and deliverables. They will be responsible for ensuring bids are delivered on time, to extremely high-quality standards demonstrating compliance and value.

  • Ability to demonstrate the following experience:
  • Supporting multiple Sales and Account Managers
  • Managing multiple bids / projects at a time
  • Managing multi-disciplined teams of subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • A good level of understanding and applying strategic bid management processes, including pre-bid planning, strategy development as well as overall bid management
  • Sound commercial understanding and risk management skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • High standards of written and verbal communication
  • Highly experienced in Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • 3-5 years relevant bid management experience in a similar role, leading and managing bids in the Public/Education Sector:
  • APMP Foundation Certification working towards APMP Practitioner Certification.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fully responsible for the successful management of Bid Management-led opportunities from Qualification through to Contract Award (including PQQs, RFIs and SQs; ITTs, RFPs, and proposals), including:
  • Developing win strategies
  • Response and timeline planning
  • Scheduling and chairing kick-off and (appropriate) review meetings
  • Coordinating, writing, editing, reviewing, and formatting response documents
  • Managing and submitting clarifications questions and answers
  • Liaising with and providing updates to key stakeholders
  • Managing third parties
  • Submitting the response (inc. portal uploads, email and postal)
  • Managing post-submission clarifications
  • Managing any further stages, i.e., Presentation, Best and Final Offer (BAFO), Contract Negotiations
  • Managing internal systems throughout
  • Continuous improvement of bid process and content through key learning and bid scoring feedback
  • Identification of trends and issues and proposing solutions to improve bid process, quality and outcomes
  • Continually adding to and improving the Bid Content Library
  • Other improvement activities identified by the Team.
